Bank of the Ozarks (NYSE: OZK) is a regional bank with key operations in Arkansas As of 2017, it has 2,400 employees and 253 offices in Arkansas, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, Texas, Alabama, South Carolina, California, New York and Mississippi. It was founded in 1903 and headquartered in Little Rock, AK.

The bank provides a range of retail and commercial banking services, but is best known for its Construction/CRE lending focus through its Real Estate Specialties Group, where it focused on higher value-add, highly complex real estate transactions.

History

In 1903, it was founded as a small community bank in Jasper, AK. In 1979, the current CEO, George Gleason, acquired a controlling stake of the company. In 1981, it formed a holding company structure. In 1997, it completed an initial public offering. In 2017, it operated an internal restructuring and eliminated the holiday company structure into the bank.

Gregory L. McKinney (CFO): Gregory McKinney serves as CFO since 2003. Prior, he was EVP Controller at the company.
