Genpact (NYSE: G) is a business process management (BPM) and outsourcing company. Genpact serves one fifth of the Fortune Global 500 and includes clients such as Abbott, Boeing, Citigroup, General Electric, PayPal and Wells Fargo. It has 78,000 employees across over 73 delivery centers in 16 countries at the end of 2017. It was founded in 1997 and headquartered in New York, NY.

Genpact was founded in 1997 as an Indian captive arm under General Electric. It was acquired by private equity in 2004 and became a public company in 2007. Genpact provides business outsourcing services for middle and back office outsourcing. They provide services such as accounting, performance reporting, digitization, sourcing/procurement and IT management.

Genpact was founded in 1997 as an Indian captive arm in General Electric. It was called GE Capital International Services and served as a role running back office operations for GE Capital. The role over time included operations for both GE Capital and GE. In 2004, private equity firms Oak Hill and General Atlantic acquire an 60% stake and, in 2005, it became an independent company and began growing its customer base outside of General Electric. It was renamed Genpact and went public in 2007. In 2012, Bain Capital bought a strategic stake in the company.


N V Tyagarajan (CEO): N V Tyagarjan serves as CEO since 2011. Prior, he served in various roles at Genpact, including COO, EVP of Sales & Marketing. He has also served as CEO of GE Capital Internaitonal Services, the predecessor of Genpact.
