Fleet Management Solutions Segment

Ryder provides a range of services for commercial vehicles:
  • ChoiceLease: Ryder provides companies with vehicles and maintenance requirements in agreements lasting three to seven years. Roughly, 130,000 vehicles are covered under this program at end of 2017.
  • Commercial Rental: Ryder provides a spot market service for businesses to rent commercial vehicles. Roughly, 37,000 vehicles are under this program at end of 2017.
  • SelectCare: Ryder provides maintenance coverage for vehicles and fleets. Roughly, 54,000 vehicles are covered under this program at end of 2017.
  • Fuel Services: Ryder provides fuel, fuel cards and fuel monitoring programs to existing customers.

Dedicated Transportation Solutions Segment

Ryder provides customers with an entire fleet of leased vehicles and drivers as well as administrative support. Ryder is able to provide vehicles branded with customer logos and customer-uniformed drivers. The fleet can handle local, regional and multi-stop journeys, delivering goods to either retail or distribution centers.

Supply Chain Solutions Segment

Ryder provides customers with a dedicated product of equipment, drivers, maintenance and administrative support. Dedicated drivers help customers avoid driver shortage. Customers also receive distribution management, transportation management and professional services.


Its main competitors are third-party vendors, logistics provides and Penske Truck Leasing. Ryder also faces competition from in-housing by companies themselves.
